Hello,
I hope this message finds you well I have a Ford Taurus 2004 SES with about 130k miles on it. I get some gridding sound once in a while to start the car and then the next attempt starts the car. I have a few questions:
- What steps do you suggest to diagnose and take care of the situation?
- Is is easy to inspect the starter and flexplate? If the starter is removed, is it easy to turn the flexplate to inspect all the teeth? What is good condition look like? I need some pictorial help on how to do that.
- Is it possible to replace the flexplate without dis-engaging the transmission?
Thank you in advance
