2005 Five Hundred, early build.
Does anyone know this symptom group and its solutions? Thx!
1. Reverse lights stay on when engine is running.
2. Oil and brake light in the instrument cluster stay on.
3. On the cluster, blinkers don't make an audible SOUND and left and right arrows don't LIGHT,
though ext. blinker lights are working.
4. Rear Sensing System activates even when car is in Drive
Background:
After purchasing the car, I found the #12 fuse (controls RSS, reverse lights) in the glove box. It had been removed and taped to a printout page with the fuse block diagram. I replaced it.
I've also seen other references to my exact group of symptoms, but have not seen the root cause -- or the solution. One post was over on MyFreestyle... but no solution was posted:

I'm aware of the instrument cluster problem where the cluster goes dark and needles sweep -- and where two particular spots are to be re-soldered on the back of the cluster.
From all my reading, this could still be the cold/broken solders -- or the AJB or the alternator. I'll start with the instrument cluster.
