What's this?! A Ford Taurus forum?! CRAZY!
I've been a Ford guy for a minute now. I decided it was time to downsize from an Explorer (2020, 6th Gen - Atlas Blue), even though it was a great vehicle and I miss it.
I searched for a Ford sedan and I recalled thinking in the past that if I "Had" to get a sedan, it would probably be a mid-2010s Ford Taurus because of their tough, stout stance. The Blue Oval grew on me over the years, too, so it became more of a mission, not a maybe.
When I found this 3.5 V6 AWD 2016 Police Interceptor, I figured I'd have some homework with it but it would be worth it. I liked the idea that Police cars are regularly maintenanced as well.
So I traded my Explorer and paid cash for Sheriff, then got the holes patched, got a paint job, and got some new wheels (Shift Retro). The car had 137k miles at time of purchase.
I got even more excited when I found out that the radio head unit is basically dumbed down to just AM/FM radio. No SiriusXM, no Bluetooth, no AUX. I liked that because I have enough technology around me and in my pocket to worry about.
It's really cool to just get in my car, drive, and not have to worry about any kind of remote connectivity (internet modem) etc...so I don't plan on doing anything to the interior anytime soon.
A few things I will be getting done soon are a tint job, a catalytic converter replacement, and a trunk seal replacement, if I can find one. Might get a PTU flush too.
I plan on using this car as a local driver, and to keep it for as long as I can. This is Trooper!
