I recently inherited a 2000 Mercury Sable LS. It only has about 37K and is in great condition. However, due to heat over the years, there is a square of lining on each of the four doors that has peeled off. I've researched what people recommend, and the number one hit I've found is using spray adhesive to reattach. However, I can't imagine attaching it where it looks good and not wrinkled or loose on the corners using spray adhesive.
Have others had this problem? What is/was your solution? Should I paint the squares or use something else? I have all of the leather swatches. Where they have come out, it almost feels like a foam and it can shed a bit if rubbed. The car is in such great condition, I want to find a way to make those areas look good. You don't really notice it upon first glance, but it feels rough and sheds a bit.
