2000-2007 Ford Taurus & Mercury Sable (4th Generation) • Rpm question

I have a 2000 sable with the DOHC motor. When I run at 60-65 mph my rpms are at 2200-2300. My other cars (Honda pilot, F150) run around 1500 rpm at 60-65. Is this normal for this car? It seems like the transmission is going into a 4 gears. Just wondering if others are the same.
