Ford Police Interceptor 2013-newer • Dealer Inspection weigh-in...

I took the PI to our local dealer to do an overall inspection and laundry list that I can prioritize. They did a once-over and below is the punch list:
  • Needs plugs.
  • Needs injection system cleaning.
  • Needs Coolant flush.
  • Needs rear struts.
  • Needs rear sway bar links and bushings.
  • Needs serpentine belt & tensioner.
  • Needs 4 rotors (1 rear rotor cracked).
  • Needs trans leak diagnosis (5-8 hours diagnosis).
  • Needs wipers.
I'd already planned on changing out all of the fluids, plugs and belt so half of the list was already on my radar. I highly suspected the rotors would be burned when I bought the car so no surprise there. I'll be putting a full set of rotors and pads on in the next week or so. The struts, bushings and links explore a noise I'm hearing from the rear on sharp turns under power so for me the only real surprise on the list was the need for a diagnosis on the trans leak.

As far as the trans goes I hadn't noticed any oil drip and the trans shift quality is great so didn't see that coming. I asked a few questions about the typical causes of these sort of leaks and they wouldn't offer any guesses... just said they would have to tear it down to determine anything. We'll see how it goes, I'll clean up underneath and keep my eye on it over the next few thousand miles.
