2000-2007 Ford Taurus & Mercury Sable (4th Generation) • How does the jack get secured?

So my newish-to-me 2004 Sable LS Premium came with the factory jack assembly. Hehe for the life of me I can't figure out how the heck it goes in the trunk and thru the spare tire, etc.

Any tips and/or pics or something? Thanks
